GOOD PEOPLE BY DAVID LINDSAY ABAIRE

Welcome to Southie, a Boston neighborhood where a night on the town means a few rounds of bingo, where this month’s paycheck covers last month’s bills, and where Margie Walsh has just been let go from yet another job. Facing eviction and scrambling to catch a break, Margie thinks an old fling who’s made it out of Southie might be her ticket to a fresh new start. But is this apparently self-made man secure enough to face his humble beginnings? Margie is about to risk what little she has left to find out. With his signature humorous glow, Lindsay-Abaire explores the struggles, shifting loyalties and unshakeable hopes that come with having next to nothing in America.

3rd Annual Shakespeare Festival: Playing August 16 - September 3rd

PLAYED JAN 12 - 22, 2023

Jim Fingal is a fresh-out-of-Harvard fact checker for a prominent but sinking New York magazine. John D’Agata is a talented writer with a transcendent essay about the suicide of a teenage boy. Emily Penrose is the editor hoping John’s essay will save her magazine from collapse. When Jim is assigned to fact check the D’Agata’s essay, the two come head to head in a comedic yet gripping battle over facts vs truth. The debate is hilarious, wildly entertaining and deeply resonant. Based on a true story and a book that shares it’s name, The Lifespan of a Fact will disturb preconceptions, unsettle assumptions and have you laughing out loud.

The cast and the audience got to meet the real Jim Fingal as well.
